My Life in a Nutshell Oct 3, 2007 @ 16:28
Well, it certainly has been a while. I'm not sure how many people still look at this, since it's been about a year and a half since I've added anything to it. I've had this urge recently to post to this because so much has been going on in my life, but I had a problem with the process of actually posting news, and I was much too busy/lazy to actually fix it. Well, I took the 5 minutes required today and fixed it, so here I am.

Lets see, what's happened since my last post? I'm going to try to cover everything briefly, and I'll expand on them in later posts (do you believe me?).

I've been working at athenahealth for about a year and a half now. I really like the job, and I have made a ton of friends there. My first week, someone told me I should play Ultimate Frisbee with them. I had played at summer camp and in gym class during high school, so I thought it would be fun. I quickly learned that I had never actually played Ultimate Frisbee. It's a huge amount of running and jumping and throwing and catching, and it's very intense. A lot of people don't understand how a Frisbee can result in so much exercise without actually doing it.

The reason I tell you all this, is because it has greatly contributed to the fact that I have also lost 50 pounds since my last post. Other things that have contributed to this, are that I have a very good deal on the Boston Sports Club gym downstairs from my work, and that I have been biking a lot recently.

I've also realized recently that I can actually run a 5k now. I ran my first one on Labor Day (9/3) with a time of 31:35. Considering I've been able to do a 10 minute mile, maybe one or two years out of all the time since elementary school, I think that's pretty damn good. I ran my second one on the 23rd with a time of 32:06 (There were 20x more people there, so my start was delayed and was running slow around all the people at the beginning). I'm running another one this weekend, and possibly a fourth two weeks after that.

I think that's enough for now. I'll try to cover more later. I can promise that there will be another post soon, but I'm not sure who will believe me.
